Nathan was one of the most innovative contemporary potters and produced a wide variety of forms and styles. This piece is from a stage in his career when he was studying sculpture in the late 1980s. This seated woman is very finely molded, stone polished, and decorated with excellent details. Around the base is a splattered gold glaze paint. It is in excellent condition.
